Drag-and-drop, real-time, scale-correct orchestra layouts. Built for teachers, orchestra managers and anyone who shouldn't have to learn Vectorworks just to place a string section.
Not a generic seating diagram. A scale-correct planner with human-sized icons, adjustable spacing, real-world stage dimensions, and a calibration trick that turns any floorplan PDF into a workable canvas.
Import a venue PDF, click two points you know the distance between (e.g. "this wall to that wall is 12 metres"), and the entire drawing rescales to real-world dimensions. From that point on, every chair, stand, and player is at correct scale relative to the stage.
Violin, viola, cello, double bass, woodwinds, brass, percussion, keys — all rendered at their true on-stage footprint. A timpani isn't the same size as a violinist. A concert grand isn't the same as a chair.
Default spacing matches conservatory rule-of-thumb, but every value is editable per player or globally. Bow envelopes can be visualised to check no two strings collide.
Drop the venue's PDF floorplan in, calibrate the scale, and lay the orchestra over it. Print or export the combined layout. Visit a new venue? You have a workable plan before you arrive.
Hand a clean DXF to your production designer, drafting house, or technical director. Imports into Vectorworks (and every other CAD program) at 1:1 millimetres, with every instrument family on its own layer.
A3 landscape, black-and-white line art, no grid clutter, no selection chrome. Print to the production office wall or send to the venue tech crew. Custom title block with your school / org logo.
Plans follow you between school and home. Invite teammates per tier (Educator 1 · Studio 5 · School 15 · Production House 40) to collaborate on the same layout in real time.
EasyOrchestra exists because "now you need to make a stage plan" is a sentence music teachers hear too often, with too little help.
All prices AUD. Monthly or yearly (yearly saves ~17%). Save / export / print / cloud sync / team seats need a subscription.
Restricted student seats · educational use only · school email required at checkout.
The Production Suite bundles all six EasyStagecraft apps — EasyOrchestra, EasyInventory, EasyScheduler, EasyRisk and EasyStageManager (EasySM + EasyStage) — under one annual subscription, with EasyRoster unlocked. One login, every tool, billed yearly in AUD.
Need shift rostering for crew or front-of-house? EasyRoster bills at A$5/user/mo (Pro A$9) and is added inside the roster app — included with any Production Suite plan.
If you know your stage size, yes — drag a section, position it, save. If you're importing a PDF floorplan and calibrating, allow another 5 min. The 30-min free window is enough to lay out a real concert layout from scratch.
Standard orchestral library covers strings, woodwinds, brass, percussion, keys, and staging. We add new icons on request — drop us a line at Live Help and we'll usually have it back to you within a week.
It's the industry-standard CAD interchange format. Imports natively into Vectorworks (File → Import → DXF/DWG, tick "Use units in file"), at 1:1 millimetres, with every instrument family on its own coloured layer. Every other CAD program also reads it.
Short answer: impossible. Long answer: .vwx is a proprietary binary format Nemetschek doesn't publish. No third-party tool in any language can write it. DXF is the universally-supported alternative and Vectorworks's DXF importer is one of the best in the industry — your file lands at correct scale every time.
Yes — the Studio tier gives 5 seats, School gives 15, Production House gives 40. Music Tech Class tiers (for student-led use) are coming. See the pricing page for the full ladder.
EasyOrchestra is one of six. The Suite also has EasyInventory (set/props/costume manager), EasyScheduler (production schedules), EasyRisk (theatre-specific OHS), and EasyStageManager (set design + stage management). Plus the ESC Course — Teacher PD curriculum. See the Suite overview.
30 minutes free. No card. Sign up only if it saves you time on the next concert.
